Mom's History

Posted by Tammy Chapman on

You may be wondering why I posted such a delicious picture of the Pumpkin Honey Muffins last blog, and then didn't give you the recipe?  I will be giving recipes out on occasion, but that was really a "helpful hint" about substituting honey for sugar in any recipe.  I just wanted to give you a taste of what those muffins looked like cooling.  Delish!

Since this section of the blogs will be hosted by me (the Mom of Do This Honey) I want to give you my background.  Most of my career was office work.  I have also worked warehouse and driven the big haul trucks at a coal mine in Wyoming. The last 20 years have been spent in Medical offices.  I was a Night ER Registrar at a local hospital, an Office Manager at a Surgery Center, and a Tech 2 Office Tech at a hospital Pain Clinic.  Then for fun, I wrote a children's book!

10 years ago I was diagnosed with many chronic diseases.  Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Sjogren's Syndrome, & MCTD (Mixed Connective Tissue Disease).  I also have degenerative hips, compressed & herniated discs in my back and my knees have been bad for so long I can't even count. (ok...about 40 years!)  Basically, I am a mess.  After the Lupus diagnosis I had terrible problems with rashes.  I became allergic to almost everything.  After 4 doctors, 1 holistic healer, and masses of RX, I decided to take action myself.  This is the culmination of years of my own personal journey to help correct my health.  Too much for one post here, but I will break it down in sections with the next few posts.  All of this is important because it brought us to Do This Honey.  So, buckle in and take this trip with me. I hope some of my journey can help you on your search for healing.

Stay tuned!
