Cherry Rhubarb Crisp

I had just taken this out of the oven when I snapped this picture.  Cherry Rhubarb Crisp.  I could still hear it bubbling!  Haven't done one of these in awhile, but it is one of our favorites.  Needed to get back on "fruit" instead of chocolate!  I used my regular recipe, but I used only 1/2 the sugar and butter as usual.  Tim never noticed the difference.  It was a little "tart" but still very good.  Just trying to do my best to cut back on the bad stuff and still have good stuff!  Last night we did Tuna Noodle Casserole with 1/2 the pasta and a bag of coleslaw again with peas.  Usually recipe, but many more veggies!  So good...love the bit of crunchy with the coleslaw in it.  Tim is already requesting Spaghetti Squash this week.  I have some venison Italian Sausage we made, so a good way to use that up.  With my cauliflower Alfredo Sauce, just heaven and again, LOTS OF VEGGIES!  

Cold last night at -8 but suppose to be in the mid +40's for highs all week!  Tim will be opening up the loop building tomorrow so the bees can go out for cleansing flights and make it back to the hives so he can close it up for the night.  He checked on them yesterday and seems all of the bigger hives are alive and well.  What a wonderful winter it has been for the bees.  As cold as it has been, they have survived and they have their "daddy" Tim to thank for that!  There are still a few spots open for the CSA Stronger Bee Initiative Program!  Tim will be ordering bees this Friday.  Take a look at our program and contact me with any questions.  Time is going fast!  I am getting really excited for Spring now!
