Bert was out hunting in the field this morning and I just had to take a picture of the beautiful green field and my happy poochie.  It is going to be a beautiful day here and I just couldn't resist the picture this morning.  There are so many little critters to chase here on the farm.  Lately, with all the rain and the river being high, there have been many frogs in the field.  He used to eat them, but I don't think he likes the taste when they come back up (and they always come back up!)  This is the first year I think he has learned they are fun to play with, but not tasty!  

A great start to the weekend here.  We had frost warnings last night, but it was in the low 40's this morning so we were safe.  It is suppose to be 36 tonight, so I will see if they post a frost warning for tonight.  I took the chance and didn't cover the garden last night.  I will see what it feels like this afternoon.  Didn't kick the heat on last night, but closed windows.  Sun is gorgeous, and only going to be mid 60's today.  Probably pop windows open a crack soon.  Nice cool breeze...love this weather!  

Did my grocery run early today and I am home in the office for awhile.  Need to get out and check rhubarb today.  Tim said it wasn't quite ready last week, but with all the rain, I am guessing it is ready for first harvest.  I also thought we would have raspberries this year (birds usually get to them before I do) but no fruit yet.  Might be too cold.  Only had 2 really nice, hot days.  Or, as I already stated...the birds got them!  I don't mind feeding the birds, but I would like to get a few for us too!

Tim is going to grill tonight.  Going to do a pork loin with my Honey/Garlic Glaze.  Great on pork, chicken in shrimp stir-fry.  This is not really a marinade.  Honey will burn, so we brush it on when almost done and use it as a dipping sauce.  Fresh veggie packets on the grill (cauliflower, broccoli, snap peas) round out a delicious meal.  I made a Cinnamon/Vanilla Bread Pudding the other night.  Not much sugar needed and great flavor.  Go to our website (hit the Shop Now button) and sign up with us and get my weekly newsletter.  I send a new recipe every Friday.  Here is my Honey/Garlic Glaze: 3/4 cup Honey, 1/2 cup Tamari Soy Sauce, 1 Heaping Tbsp Minced Garlic.  Stir together and brush on at end of grilling.  Great for a dipping sauce for any meat.
